first day of school

Parents were invited to visit the class for the first bit of school.  The kids were THRILLED with their new environment and had lots of exploring to do...Since I had the parents there, I wanted them to be a part of the classroom and especially to do an art activity with their children.  It was so inspiring to see them side-by-side exploring paint and mixing colors together.  I'm thinking about doing more of this exploration with parents...possibly a parent night?

I'm not surprised that my class was SOLELY divided into the blocks and kitchen area.  These are definitely familiar places to them when they arrive.

I just love the picture of father and son...creating, exploring, spending time meaningful together.
